Impaired Credit

Even if you your credit rating is not as squeaky clean as you would like, it does not mean a mortgage is out of reach for you. Statistics show that 25% of Britons will be turned down for a mainstream mortgage at some point in their lives. Fortunately, many lenders (known as sub prime) have recognised this fact and have produced a range of products to cater for people with an impaired credit rating.

You may find you have impaired credit if you have missed or made late payments, especially on a mortgage, or if you have a County Court Judgement registered against you. Perhaps you have moved addresses a lot or simply that you have never had credit of any kind before and therefore you have no track record. You can check your credit rating by contacting a credit reference agency like Experian.co.uk

Sub prime lenders rates do tend to be higher than mainstream rates therefore we will do our very best to place your mortgage with a mainstream lender, but if we do have to take the sub prime route there is still some good news. Once you have been with a sub prime lender for a while, usually 3 years, providing you have made all your repayments in full and on time you will have established a new 'clean' credit history and you can return to the mainstream market and enjoy better rates.

We don't judge you on your past credit history - so give us a call to find out how we can get help you back on track.
